NCAL-6 - NCAL Day: Guiding Your Team Over the Rising Acuity Mountain

Assisted Living communities have entered an era of increasingly severe resident illness and elevated care needs. The residents who are now entering into AL communities once resided in nursing homes. While the acuity has certainly increased, there continues to be some internal conflict regarding whether the residents belong in assisted living or in another healthcare environment. Assisted living provides a necessary link in the continuum of long-term care services. Without assisted living, many residents would be either living unsafely at home or in nursing homes. This session will focus on avoiding pushback from staff and helping them understand that the residents we have do belong in assisted living. The session will identify how to train and motivate your team members through empowerment with enhanced skillset, giving them the tools and resources they need to help residents thrive in assisted living.
