This session will provide a comprehensive look into the world of data and analytics for skilled nursing facilities, with an emphasis on developing a successful data strategy. We'll discuss best practices for collecting, auditing, and making facility-level data publicly available, as well as how to assess and track the quality of care by owner or management companies. We will also explore the implications of this data and the tools technology providers need to provide in order to make it possible for owners to assess outcomes before submitting them to CMS. In addition, we'll cover all aspects from data capture and extraction through analysis, ultimately providing easy-to-consume and easy-to-access data. We will also explore how to develop, implement and refine a data strategy, focusing on Care Compare-related measures, such as palliative care and end-of-life care. For this, providers will hear about the benefits of the implementation of resident's care plans, receipt of care that aligns with goals and attainment of those goals, staff well-being and satisfaction, psychosocial and behavioral health and various structural measures such as health information technology adoption and interoperability, emergency preparedness and response, financial performance, and staff employment arrangements. We will also discuss the opportunities presented by the increasing availability of research data in healthcare. Attendees will gain insight into the importance of data in ensuring quality care is provided to post-acute care patients across the country. They will also understand the need for collecting, auditing, and making available facility-level data on the finances, operations, and ownership of all nursing homes.
