Karen McDonald, BSN, RN is currently with Mission Health Communities, a provider of Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living services in 8 states. As a VP and the Chief Clinical Officer, Mrs. McDonald is repsonsible for the clinical and regulatory processes within the company. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1979 and worked in this sector of the healthcare system for 34 years. Mrs. McDonald recevied her Diploma of Nursing at Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, London, Ontario Canada in 1979 and her BSN from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989. Upon graduation in 1979 she moved to Raleigh, NC on a visa for foreign nurses and has never looked back. She is currently on the Regulatory and Quality Improvement Committees with AHCA, is active with NADONA and is the membership lead for the Nurse Executive Council. She lives in Durham NC with her husband, Cam of 41 years, has three grown children and two grandchildren.
