Crystal Bowens is currently the Vice President of Regulatory and Clinical Services for ACHA. She has served in the healthcare industry since 1996 in various roles and has dedicated the past 16 years of her career to the post-acute care sector. Crystal started her health care career as a nursing assistant. After several years serving in this role, she decided to pursue a career in nursing. She started her nursing career off in the acute care setting as a bedside nurse and after several years realized her passion was in the post-acute arena with a desire to drive change on a larger scale. This drive led Crystal toward obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing degree, as well as a Master of Health Administration. She did not stop there; Crystal completed her Doctor of Healthcare Administration in 2019. She also holds board certification in gerontology, is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, and a Project Management Professional. Her goal is to use her knowledge and experience to promote quality care for seniors. As recognition for her strong commitment and positive contributions to the post-acute care sector, Crystal was inducted in the 2019 McKnightâs Women of Distinction Hall of Honor.
