Charmarie graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor in Nursing in 1998 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing Administration in 2020. She entered the Long Term Care sector as a Director of Wellness of a 60-bed Assisted Living Facility and then moved into the Skilled Nursing realm where she worked as a wound nurse and then as a Director of Nursing.

Charmarie has been with Genesis HealthCare since 2009. She has worked in several roles with Genesis, including Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor, Facility Educator, Infection Preventionist, and Regional Clinical Educator. Before accepting the VP role, Charmarie worked for Genesis Rehab Services as the Senior Director of Nursing for International Clinical Operations. In this role, she reviewed and adapted Genesis policies and oversaw the education of international staff in China and India to ensure that standards of practice were met. Charmarie has been certified in Infection Control since May 2015 and has served Genesis as a consultant during the pandemic, both on-site and remotely.
